  • Teaching Awards: Dr. Ramamurthy has twice won the UNL CSE Dept. Students Choice Award for Outstanding Teaching of Graduate-level Courses (for 2006-2007 and 2002-2003).

  • Dr. Ramamurthy has graduated 9 Ph.D. students and 36 M.S. students (11 Thesis and 25 Project).

  • Supervised the research of 2 post-doctoral scholars.

  • Has supervised research by 5 undergraduate students (2 supported by NSF REU) and 2 undergraduate honors project students.

  • Currently supervising 4 Ph.D. students (including 2 as co-advisor) and 1 M.S. student.

  • Currently leading an active research group (UNL Netgroup: Computer Networks group).

  • Former graduate advisees have been employed by prestigious companies such as Microsoft, Sprint Nextel, Juniper, EMC, Cisco and Intel Corp. and prestigious research units such as AT&T Labs-Research and the University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute (East).

  • One of his former Ph.D. students (Dr. Xukai Zou) is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University-Indianapolis.

  • External Ph.D. examiner of students worldwide: National University of Singapore (2), IIT-Kanpur, India (1), IIT-Madras, India (1), Iowa State University (1) and University of Ghent, Belgium (1).

  • Developed two new courses on Optical Communication Networks (CSCE953) and Data and Network Security (CSCE496/896).

  • Created (with Prof. Goddard) the UNL CSE Networks Systems Seminar (CSCE990) which has been held for 20 consecutive semesters.
