How to Secure a Good Final Grade
Glossaries
For every topic, a list of important terms will be given. Students should be able to define these terms formally. A few of these terms will be selected at random and put on each quiz as a glossary bonus. The glossary bonus is tracked separate from the quiz, and can be credited for up to 8% bonus, computed proportionally to the terms answered correctly to all of the bonus terms asked. Note that some important terms might be asked for regular credit on the quiz.
Rules for glossary:
- A glossary entry can be filled with: (1) its definition in AIMA, (2) its definition from another AI textbook, dictionary, or web resource, or (3) the student's own interpretation. For each term you must cite your resource (or specify none).
- Students who return a completed glossary of the assigned terms by the due date will receive feedback on their definitions. Terms that are "cut and paste" from other resources (Internet, textbook) will not be corrected. (Rewriting or paraphrasing information, rather than cut and paste, helps reinforce material in your brain!)
- After the glossary due date, the terms may appear as glossary bonus on a quiz.
