Guidelines for Backup TPC members
April 13 - 19, 2008, Phoenix, AZ, USA
Questions? Please email TPC Co-Chairs at @cse.unl.edu.
Please read the following if you are a Backup TPC member for INFOCOM
2008. Please also read the Guidelines
for TPC Members. If you have been assigned a paper to review by a TPC
member for the INFOCOM 2008 conference, please read the Guidelines
for Reviewers instead.
A small number of INFOCOM 2008 TPC members will be designated as
"Backup TPC" members. The target estimate is to have 25 such
members. Their assignments/responsibilities will be as follows.
Summary of Action Items for Backup TPC members
- They will not be assigned any papers in the initial paper assignment
phase, i.e. that will be done in July timeframe.
- Around Sep 8th, 2007 when the TPC member reviews are due, Backup TPC
members will be assigned papers that are still missing reviews.
The target is to assign approx. 5-6 papers to Backup TPC members,
with the stipulation that the reviews be completed by Sep 17th, 2007;
these members should also participate in their respective on-line
decisions and if need be, write a TPC Lead summary if the
corresponding TPC Lead member is defaulting.
Backup TPC members must closely adhere to these deadlines, given
that there is not much margin for delay.
- The ATPC Chairs will examine TPC summaries and reviews around Sep.
22nd. They can seek additional reviews for some of the papers (from
backup TPC members and other external reviewers).
The target is to assign approx. 7-10 papers to Backup members during
this phase, with the stipulation that the reviews be completed by
Oct 7th, 2007.
Additional notes
- Backup TPC members must closely adhere to these deadlines, given
that there is not much margin for delay. For borderline papers, the
backup TPC members can focus on the main controversial issues raised
in the TPC member reviews, rather then submit a full detailed
review.
- {If each of the 30 ATPC member identifies 10 papers that need
additional review, that translates to a total of 300 reviews
needed. With approx. 25 Backup TPC members and 10 papers per Backup
member, that covers about 250 reviews. The ATPC members can use
other external reviewers for the remaining needed reviews.}
- The ATPC members will make their final recommendation to the TPC
Co-Chairs by Oct 15th, 2007.
