Committed to Undergraduate Student Success

Classes are hard enough! You shouldn't also have to worry about navigating course requirements, prerequisites and graduation procedures. The CSE Undergraduate Advising Team is here to help you.

Good advising depends on you taking the initiative to seek the help that you need, when you need it. Schedule an appointment to meet with a member of the Advising Team or email general questions to cseadvising@cse.unl.edu.

Prepare for your meeting by creating a list of questions and issues that you want to discuss. Make full use of the resources available below as a first step. We'll be able to better assist you, if you come prepared.

Frequently Asked Advising Questions

Find Your Academic Advisor

It’s important to connect with your academic advisor to ensure you’re on the right path to your goals. Your advisor is largely determined by the academic program you are pursuing and your year in school. You can always find your academic advisor by logging into MyPlan.

Four-Year Course Planner

The Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering has developed a Four-Year Course Planning application. You can plan your courses not just for the next semester, but for your entire tenure here at the university. The course planner is available now online–try it out before your next advising appointment. We have also produced a helpful video introduction to the application.

Online Brochures

The advising team maintains a series of brochures as supplements to the undergraduate catalogs. These are great resources to help you and your adviser determine your academic standing, and to help guide you from matriculation through graduation.
