The Department of Computer Science and Engineering welcomed new Senior Design project manager Bill Browning this month.

As a Senior Design project manager, Browning is responsible for supporting teams of 4-6 students who are working on development projects to meet customer needs. He helps support the team leads to track progress, plan, and achieve project goals.

Browning has 20 years of IT experience in industry and started out as a developer. For the last 10 years, he’s worked for the IT department of Kiewit, a large construction company in Omaha, as an application developer, BA/PM and supervisor.

Outside of work, Browning spends as much time as he can with his two boys, ages 7 and 10, who are engaged in many activities and sports.

Browning started with CSE earlier in March. Of his new role, he said, “What intrigued me about the position was the ability to work and mentor students in an educational environment. I hope I am able to bring some outside perspective to what is a fascinating and great opportunity for our students to learn what it’s like to work on an industry project, maintaining that educational focus.”
