HOME WORKS 6 and 7

Homework 7 (Please note the reversal in the numbering of these two homeworks because of their submission dates)

Every team carries out prepares a final report on the mini-project identified in homeworks 4 and 5. The mini-project should serve dual role of  a feasibility study and a component construction for that team's CSCE489 CE Senior Design in Fall 2007. The final report can be built on the homework 4 with a detailed description of the mini-project, and thus should contain

    • [1-page WHY]  An introduction to the general field of and motivations for the proposed project focus.
    • [1-page WHAT] A description of the projected functionalities, main components, and physical appearance of the final product.
    • [2-page HOW]  A description of the proposed approaches (designs, algorithms, hardware needed, etc) to realizing the projected functionalities.
    • [1-page EXPERIENCE]  A justification(s) of why the proposed project, along with the approaches to accomplish it, is feasible for the current team
    • [4-page MINI-PROJECT/FEASIBILITY-STUDY] A detailed description of the design and implementation of the mini-project and of the additional research carried out in support of the feasibility of the project for Fall 2007.
    • Your team's report should be submitted by the team leader through the CSCE 488 Web handin in pdf format by 11:59pm on Thursday, May 3, 2007.
Homework 6

Every team  prepares a team oral presentation and demo based on Homework 6, using PowerPoint.
  • The team presentations, each 20-minutes long plus a short Q&A session, will be on Wednesday May 2nd, 2007 at 8:15 am.
  • All members of your team must be actively involved by presenting a part of your proposal.
  • Your team's presentation, including the oral delivery and presentation overheads, should follow the best-practices guidelines.
  •  The  PowerPoint file of your team's presentation overheads should be submitted through the CSCE 488 Web handin by 11:59pm on Thursday, May 3rd, 2007. Please bring handouts of overheads for every one in the class - if you want me to copy it ahead of time for you, give it to me at least a day in advance.
