Dr. Riedesel, Not having enough experience to talk about all of the possible changes, I will only comment on the changes that I think will benefit future students. First off, I think that changing CSCE 340 into a more computer simulation and modeling course would be good. I think that CSCE 361 would also be a good addition to the program. Even though the degree is for computer engineering, the more exposure to software and software development, the better the program will be because the interrelation of hardware and software is so high and most people will have jobs that require them to write some software. As for CSCE 488, what would the benefit of changing the course to 2 hours be? Or is it the thought of the faculty that time limits the productivity potential of students and thus should be made longer? My last thoughts are on CSCE 462. I am all for having a networking class required for the program. Again along the lines of the interrelated aspects of computers, having a broader understanding of how the whole picture connects and relates enables you to better understand how to make your specific piece better. And those are my thoughts.
