Sebastian Elbaum is an Associate Professor at the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He received the Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Idaho, and a Systems Engineering degree from Universidad Catolica de Cordoba, Argentina.

Dr. Elbaum received the National Science Foundation Faculty Early CAREER Award in 2004 for his research on the utilization of field data to test highly-configurable and rapidly-evolving pervasive systems. He is also co-leading several research efforts including: Dependable End-User Software sponsored by NSF-ITR, Infrastructure to Support Experimentation with V&V techniques sponsored by NSF-CRI, and Development of Scalable & Adaptive Analysis and Testing Techniques.

Dr. Elbaum spent his 2006-2007 sabbatical at University College London (UK) working on dependability aspects of mobile ubiquitous devices and at the Italian National Research Council (Pisa, Italy) working on web services validation and monitoring.

Dr. Elbaum is a Co-Editor for Information and Software Technology , an Elsevier Journal. He has served as a Program Committee member for several premier software engineering venues such as the International Conference on Software Engineering and the Symposium on Foundations of Software Engineering, and he was the Program Chair for the 2007 International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis.
