Message from the Workshop Co-Organizers
Welcome to the 3rd IEEE International Workshop on Mobility Management in the Networks of the Future World (MobiWorld 2011), which is held in conjunction with the 30th IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications (IEEE INFOCOM 2011).
Mobility management has been identified as a key technology in the areas of heterogeneous networks, mobile networks, vehicular networks, multimedia computing, and autonomous computing, as well as in the Future Internet. The development of mobility management in the areas is expected to enable mobility services for users, vehicles, robots, etc. However, many issues in mobility management including location update, handover, identity split, security, and performance analysis have posed various challenges to the academic and industry.
The purpose of MobiWorld 2011 is to bring together the academic and industry working on different aspects, exchange ideas, and explore new research directions for addressing the challenges in mobility management.
MobiWorld 2011 had received 31 high quality submissions from all over the world. After a rigorous peer-review process where each submission is reviewed by at least three TPC members, we finally accepted ten papers for presentation. We believe that these papers can serve as a trigger for further related research and technology improvements in this important subject
Finally, we would like to give our special thanks to all authors for their valuable contributions as well as to the technical program committee members led by Profs. Feilong Tang and Pedro M. Ruiz for their hard and excellent work. At the same time, we would like to acknowledge the great support by the INFOCOM 2011 team; in particular, the conference workshop chairs, Profs. Ivan Stojmenovic and Chunming Qiao, for the timely help and organization.
