Intelligent Learning Material Delivery Agent
The Intelligent Learning Material Delivery Agent (ILMDA) is designed to operate as an intelligent tutoring system (ITS). Its goal is to efficiently and effectively instruct students on a variety of topics. The ILDMA agent dynamically presents learning objects to students based on models maintained for each student, which are also updated dynamically. The ILMDA agent is capable of providing varying levels of scaffolding and feedback for different parts in the learning object. The ILMDA agent is precursor to agent being designed for iLOG.The reinventing CS curriculum project at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln restructured the introductory level computer science courses to address the problem of high dropout rates among students at universities nationwide. Included in this restructuring process is a framework for hands-on laboratories and two online-based learning objects designed to inculcate programming skills into students. This new course material is based on rigorous experimentation from both educational psychology and instructional technology.
